CHAPTER I - KNOW ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
1.1. What is Adobe Photoshop?
Adobe Photoshop is an image processing software that is very powerful with allamenities. Image results though with Adobe Photoshop is widely seen in manywebsite, brochures, newspapers, magazines, and other media. To download Adobe PhotoshopClick here.
1.2. Know the Work Area
Run Adobe Photoshop and then choose File menu -> Open. Then select openany image. For example, in open zhaow.jpg images on the CD TutorialCHAPTER I section (see figure 1.1).
Often layout tools (palette) Adobe Photoshop has changed modified byprevious users. To restore this palette layout use Windows menu -> Workspace -> Reset Palette Location.
Adobe Photoshop work area can be seen in Figure 1.1, namely:
A: Menu Bar, contains the main commands to open a file, save, resizeimages, filters and others.
B: Option, contains a selection of tools that you select. Eg selected brush / brush, thensize / diameter of the brush here.
C: Figure, displays the image being created or edited.
D: Palette Well, a quick way to access the Brushes palette, tool resets and LayerComps. It can also be used to put pallets are frequently used.
E: Toolbox contains tools to select and modify images.
F: Palette, contains the small windows in which there are commands and optionsfor document / image that is being done.1.3. Practice Chapter 1
1.3.1. Open the document and make a duplicate document
To open the image use the menu File -> Open, while making
duplicate images using the menu Image -> Duplicate.
1.3.2. Changing the image size and canvas
If the image size is changed, then the image will be enlarged or shrunk, doingmenu Image -> Image Size. If the canvas size is changed, the size of the image remains, willNo white paper around the image, do the menu Image -> Canvas Size.
1.3.3. Trying ToolBoxTry the tools in the ToolBox, one by one will be discussed in the next chapter. Tryright click on the tool that has a triangle at the bottom right to select toolhidden.
1.3.4. Reflect and Rotating ImagesTry the menu Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Canvas Flip Vertical, Image -> Rotate Canvas-> Flip Canvas Horizontal. To rotate the image, choose Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Select the desired angle.
1.3.5. UndoUndo is used to undo the last command, press Alt + Ctrl + Z, or usepallete history.
1.3.6. Transferring images to other documentsTo move the images use the Move Tool.
1.3.7. Save for webUse the menu File -> Save for Web to produce images with small sizescommonly used on the web site.
